SAT

The SAT may be the most important step you take in high school. Unfortunately, many students underestimate their scores' importance or neglect mandatory deadlines -- mistakes which may drastically hurt their chances of acceptance at the school of their school.

SAT 1500 Club

As of 2016, the SAT exam challenges students to work through multi-step processes in both the Math and the Evidence-Based Critical Reading and Writing sections. It demands a strong grasp of the kinds of problem solving and higher-order thinking abilities necessary on a college campus and beyond. JEC NW’s 1500 Club course is intended for students already excelling in rigorous coursework at school who need to polish up their test scores through targeted drill-practice and review. All students entering this class will need to meet minimum test requirements, and students will be expected to complete regular model tests, participate actively in class, and finish all assigned coursework.

SAT Workshop Elite

The SAT Workshop Elite is designed for students who are ready to put in the necessary time to steadily and rapidly increase their SAT scores. With a focus on Critical Reading, Writing, and Math, this course provides the content to help every student feel at home with the SAT and ready for whatever question the SAT poses. Familiarity, preparation, and knowledge will make all the difference for you as you get ready for that most important of exams.

SAT English Enrichment

The SAT English Enrichment course is the perfect supplement to Critical Reading and Writing workshops for the PSAT/SAT. In this course students will examine and discuss articles from a variety of areas for practice with critical reading, vocabulary, grammar, and essay writing. Become an accomplished reader and writer as you hone skills and prepare for exams.

SAT Math Enrichment

An excellent companion to the SAT Math workshop, the SAT Math Enrichment course utilizes key sections of our textbooks to review a broad spectrum of the most frequently tested math topics in Algebra I & II and in Geometry. If you've grown a little rusty, this is the fastest way to polish your skills and maximize your score.

SAT Subject Test Prep.

This course will put you on the track to success with a one-hour model test, two hours of instruction and test review each week. The following SAT subjects are offered: Math IIC, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, US History, World History, and Literature.

PSAT English WS

JEC's PSAT Workshop program offers a comprehensive review of the content and test taking skills necessary for success on the PSAT / SAT reasoning test.

ACT Workshop

The JEC ACT Workshop is a rigorous, four-week program designed for students who are taking AP and honors classes and want to round out their college applications with impressive test scores.

Math

A successful academic career in mathematics begins with the basics of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. But it also begins with confidence. The elementary math program at JEC was designed by experienced educators with advanced degrees in early childhood education who understand the delicate psychology of young learners. We know how to present content in meaningful ways that bolster students' confidence and set them up for high achievement throughout their lives.

The life of a middle and high school student is a juggling act. Academic life, extra-curricular activities, college preparation, and socialization dominate their lives. It can be a very confusing time. How does one do it all? At JEC our streamlined math courses aim to alleviate their stress, not add more. We cut right to the heart of each course. In less than forty sessions we cover all the essential topics, including those needed for success in subsequent math classes, those needed to test out of a subject at school, and those that are the most likely to be found on the SAT.

Math Personal Tutoring

In this small, intimate setting, JEC math personal tutoring students work through our meticulously designed curriculum at their own pace under the guidance of highly qualified and experienced math instructors. We offer complete courses in middle school math, Algebra I & II, Geometry, and Pre-calculus.

Junior Math Personal Tutoring

A junior version of our personal math tutoring, this course will help younger students improve and develop their math skills, each at his or her own pace, in a small, intimate setting with one of our highly qualified and experienced math instructors.

Readi@JEC English Level I - V

Get a head start and set yourself apart in your English studies by working with one of our highly qualified English instructors in reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and grammar.

English Personal Tutoring

Looking to enhance your English skills beyond the scope of the larger classroom environment? This course allows each student to work and learn at his or her own pace in a small, intimate environment with a highly qualified English instructor. Topics of study include critical reading, vocabulary, writing, and grammar, and are studied within our own curriculum and/or through homework help to assist each student's success in the classroom.

Writer's Lab

Writing can seem intimidating at all skill levels, but it doesn't have to be! Join one of our writing instructors, who will facilitate a workshop environment that focuses on each step of the writing process, from brainstorming ideas and peer editing the rough draft to polishing and editing the final draft.

Reading Club

Whether you already love to read or are simply looking for a way to improve your verbal skills, this intensive reading course will help you build competence in reading, a skill that is the foundation of all learning. Students will read one book every two weeks and participate in in-depth discussions led by the instructor that focus on the most important aspects of literature.

Readi@JEC Junior English Level I - III

The Readi@JEC Junior English Program targets students preparing to enter their 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade year. The program emphasizes academic English skills, including reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, as well as mathematics. Students also begin to develop critical thinking and analysis skills. Teachers emphasize the process of discovery, learning, and understanding.

Junior Reading Club

Improve reading comprehension through hands-on activities that will bring books to life! The elementary book club will meet weekly to explore elements of literature and enrich books we'll read together.

Junior Writer's Lab
