Junior Math Personal Tutoring

Open to students from 2nd to 5th grade, this course is designed to help students start off their experience with math on the right foot by helping them establish strong fundamental skills that will support them throughout their education. Students work at their own pace with one of our math instructors to build up their understanding before moving on to more complex topics as they are ready. Small group, semi-private, and private sessions are available upon request.

Junior Readi@JEC NW English Level I – III

Our Junior Readi@JEC NW class is a great way for younger students to get their feet wet with language arts. In small group or private sessions, students discover diverse, thought-provoking fiction and non-fiction texts that gradually increase in difficulty, providing lots of room for growth in comprehension skills. Regular lessons in sentence level grammar, word study, and writing help students become more familiar with the patterns and structures of English that they will encounter both in school and in their independent reading.

Junior Reading Club

For younger students, reading is a way of engaging the imagination and getting excited about a world full of adventures, both far away and closer to home. This course taps into that imaginative space using a mix of high-interest fiction texts to help students feel more at ease with the written word. Supplementary work with nonfiction texts will indulge students' desire to explore while also building familiarity with varied text structures as well as active reading habits and skills that students can carry into later grades.
